LAKE TAHOE - 2020 PRESIDENTS DAY
MITE CROSS ICE TOURNAMENT RULES
All rules established and published by USA Hockey shall apply, except as modified herein.
4 on 4 play with a goalie in the net - there will be 3 cross ice games each round.
Shift change is on the fly no stopping the clock.
A horn will sound every 2 minutes to indicate shift change intervals.
1 referee and 1 scorer will be assigned per game.
Scores will be kept during the game only, no individual stats will be recorded.
Each game will consist of 2 - 25 minute periods, running time 1 minute break between periods.
All teams will play a minimum of 4 games total.
All games are round robin play.
At the conclusion of the 4th game all players will receive a participation medal with their name announced on the ice.
THERE ARE NO CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES OR TEAM TROPHIES!
A faceoff will take place at the start of each period.
After a goal or a penalty, the specified team will begin with the puck behind their goal with the opposing team 10 feet from the net.
All penalties will be a Penalty Shoot (again, no stoppage of clock).
When on the ice, coaches must wear helmets regardless if they are on skates or not.
All players must wear numbered uniforms in the proper team colors.
The visiting team will wear a white or light colored jersey and the home team shall wear a dark colored jersey.
Teams should be ready to enter the ice surface for the warm-up period up to ten minutes prior to the scheduled start time. If the tournament is running ahead of schedule teams are expected to be ready to play.
Warm-up time shall be three minutes.
No team is permitted a time-out in round robin play.
Benches will be shared so please be mindful & respectful of players as they exit and enter the ice.
Players entering the ice should be given right-of-way to avoid collisions at the bench doors.
Ice cuts will be listed in the schedule at approximately 90-minute intervals.
